David Grant Schmidt, 27, passed away August 28, 1995, three miles North of Tony Grove Lake as the result of a fall.

Born March 9, 1968 in Logan, Utah, the son of Grant John and Susan Harris Schmidt. David was raised in Centerville, Utah. He was an Eagle Scout who truly loved nature and the out-of-doors. Graduated with honors from Viewmont High School in 1986. Was a State Sterling Scholar in Visual Arts. He served a mission in the Virginia, Roanoke Mission from 1987-1989. Graduated Magna Cum Laude from Weber State University in the field of Marriage and Family Studies. Graduated from LDS Institute where he was active in the choir and LDSSA Council. Was pursuing a master's degree at Purdue Calumet University at the time of his death. David was an active member of the LDS Church. David could see the beauty in all things and will be remembered by those who knew him for his sensitivity and love for people and the service he loved to give. His rare gift of tenderness and compassion compelled him to help and assist. David could sense the good in all people and extended his warmth and service to them.He is survived by his parents; brothers, Michael and Matthew, both of Centerville; Steven and Benjamin, who are currently serving missions for the LDS Church; and his sister, Melinda, Centerville; grandparents, Willy Schmidt; Wesley and Bertha Harris, all of Logan; and other extended family and friends whose lives have been touched by David's life.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 2, 1995 at 12:30 p.m. in the Centerville Canyon View Stake Center, 2110 North Main, Centerville. Friends may call at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. and Saturday at the stake center from 11-12 noon. Interment will be in the Logan City Cemetery where graveside services will be held at 3:30 p.m.
