DEATH: ELIZABETH (BETTY) WANBERG

Our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend, Maria Elizabeth (Betty) Wanberg, 89, slipped away to our Heavenly Father on August 27, 1997 after a lingering illness in Sandy, Utah.

Born May 15, 1906 in Ogden, Utah to Johanna Christina Grondel and Reinder Jansen. She married David Roland Wanberg, April 7, 1926 in Salt Lake City, Utah. It was later solemnized in 1948 at the Salt Lake Temple. He preceded her in death in 1970.She was multi-talented being an artist, sculptor, art teacher, writer of music and poetry. She loved to sing, play her organ, cook, sew, and keep a lovely home. She loved flowers and was a member of the Iris Society and the Utah Camera Club. She won many awards for her photography and painting. Most of all, she loved her family. She was truly a gracious, elegant lady.

She is survived by her daughter, Shirley (Gerald) Broadbent, Glynda (James) Walker, Shane C. (Cherie) Broadbent, David R. (Tammara) Broadbent, Troy N. (Susan) Broadbent; 10 grandchildren; brother, Henrick F. (Marjorie) Jansen.

Viewing for family and friends will be at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 So. Highland Dr., Friday 6 to 8 p.m. and one hour prior on Saturday. Funeral Saturday, 10 a.m., also at Cottonwood Mortuary. Interment at Larkin Sunset Cemetery, 10600 So. 1700 East, Sandy, Utah
