Mountain Mt. Pleasant
The annual Horseshoe Mountain Festival will feature a celebrity basketball tournament, pig wrestling, bathtub races, a cow pie toss, performances by the Sunshine Generation and Fire on the Mountain as well as historic tours, crafts and food. The day ends with a turkey barbecue dinner and dance.
When: Friday and Saturday, Aug. 4 and 5.

Family hoedown
Salina, Sevier County
A family-oriented "hoedown" and dinner has been scheduled in Salina. Events will include a barbecue dinner, line dancing lessons and a dance to the music of the Taylor Sound band.
When: Friday, Aug. 4. Dinner, 6:30-8 p.m.; line dancing, 7:30-8:30 p.m.; dance 8:30-11:30 p.m.

ATV hearing
Annabella, Sevier County
Public hearing on adopting a general plan and ATV ordinance.

Demolition derby
Richfield
More than $3,000 will go to winners at the 25th annual Lions Club Demolition Derby. A parade on Main Street from the Richfield City Park and then to the Sevier County Fairgrounds will precede the derby.
When: Saturday, Aug. 5 at 7 p.m.

Concert series
Cedar City
The Brassworks' Centennial Band, a musical group that recreates the sounds, setting and atmosphere of a festive 1896 band concert. Admission is free.
When: Aug. 6 at 7 p.m.
Where: SUU Randall Jones Theatre.
Logan
The Capitol Arts Alliance will hold a fund-raising golf tournament to help continue a program that buses schoolchildren to the theater for free performances.
When: Wednesday, Aug. 8.
Where: Logan River Golf Course.
What else: The tournament will be a four-person scramble with prizes, concluded by a catered dinner at the course. Tickets are $75 per person and may be purchased at the Eccles Theatre Box Office, Mondays through Saturdays, noon to 6 p.m., or by calling 752-0026.
