Marvin Ross Johnson, our loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, passed away August 2, 1995 at University Hospital from complications resulting from a fall.

Born June 21, 1932 to Johan Emil and Mary Siska Johnson. He brought love and laughter to all who were privileged to have him in their lives. He married LaJuan Casto on August 30, 1956; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He served four years in the U.S. Air Force, and was stationed in Germany. He was active in the LDS Church, where his willingness to serve his Father-in-Heaven literally altered lives.Marve is survived by his wife, Lee; and six children, Debbie (Kent) Silver; Vicki (Guy) Dorius; Pam Barrie; Bruce (Jennifer) Johnson; Steven (Dana) Johnson; Ginny Johnson; 13 grandchildren; loving nieces and nephews; and the young people he took into his home and his heart.

He was co-owner for many years of Johnson Burial Vault Company. Marve's laughter will resound throughout the Salt Lake valley for many, many years, and the University of Utah Athletics will never be quite the same to many people as they lost one of their loyal fans.

His love may be remembered by contributions to a memorial athletic scholarship fund set up at the U of U in Marve's name. Contributions can be made through Carolyn Johnson at the U of U Athletic Office.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 12 noon, in the East Millcreek 9th LDS Ward Chapel, 3750 So. Hillside Lane (2500 East). Friends may call Sunday, 6 to 8 p.m. at the church, and Monday, 11-11:45 a.m. Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to be made in his name to the Muscular Dystrophy Assoc.

A special thanks to all of the doctors, nurses and staff at the MCCU of the U of U Hospital, who showed so much loving support and concern through a difficult time.

Funeral directors, Peel Funeral Home.
