WOODS CROSS MAN REPORTS HE WAS BEATEN WITH GOLF CLUB

A Woods Cross man told police he was robbed by a carload of men brandishing a golf club Tuesday.

The victim, 21, said he was walking about 10:30 p.m. Tuesday near 600 North Starcrest (1840 West) when a yellow Toyota Corolla stopped near him. A man jumped out and said he and the others were from Oakland and were going to beat him up.The man tried to run but was hit over the head with the golf club and knocked to the ground, according to a police report. While one of the men continued to beat him with the club, another man ripped a Rolex watch from his wrist, then the two sped away in the car. The watch was valued at $900.

Officers arrived and found the man had suffered a deep laceration behind his left ear and bruises on his right arm and ribs. He was taken to the Salt Lake Regional Medical Center, treated for the injuries and later released.

No arrests have been made.
