St. George police are hoping to enlist the help of the FBI in tracking down a Mesquite, Nev., man suspected of murdering a St. George bar manager on August 28.

St. George Police Chief Jon Pollei believes Anthony Ray Edwards has fled the area. "This will allow us to track down possible leads on a national level with much more efficiency," Pollei said.St. George police asked the FBI to become involved last Thursday.

Edwards is the prime suspect in the shooting death of Thomas B. Foard, 43, the bar manager-bartender at The Blarney Stone tavern. A warrant has been issued for Edward's arrest, charging him with aggravated murder.

Bar employees told officers Edwards was the last one seen with Foard after closing time early Sunday morning. Foard's body was found by his wife later that morning. A pistol registered to Edwards and matching the caliber used in the murder was found in Edward's St. George motel room.

Edwards lists a Mesquite, Nev., post office box as his address and has family in the area. He may be driving a dark green Chevrolet S-10 pickup with Nevada license plates.
