DIRECTIONS: Follow I-80 east, through Parleys Canyon, to Kimball Junction. Then head south to Park City. Once in town head for Deer Valley Ski Resort. Trailhead is at the resort's Silver Lake Lodge.
DESCRIPTION: this is good mountain riding on exitsting single- and double-track trails and dirt roads. More than 30 miles of trails are identified and signed for riders. Some of the single track winds through thick, lush forests of aspens and pines.
POINTS OF INTEREST: Number of ride options - 1.9-mile Uphill route with 10 percent grade, to easy all-downhill rides from the top of the chair lift. Beautiful views of valley from top of the mountain.
ALSO: Best part of this ride is that for $10 for all-day pass, bikers can ride the4 lift up, 1,200 feet, and pedal down. Wide range of trails lead from the top of the lift back to the base. Most of the downhill rides take between 1 to 1 1/2 hours. Better yet, at the base food and refreshments are available. And, twon of Park City is only minutes away. All riders are required to wear helmets while on ski area trails.
