DEATH: HILDA HELEN SCHMIDT STABER

Our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend, age 90, passed away August 2, 1995, of causes incident to age.

She left behind her a legacy of service and love.Born April 15, 1905 in Philadelphia to George and Lena Schmidt. She married Henry A. Staber November 27, 1930; later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She was a woman of great courage and faith. No obstacle could stop her from carrying out the Lord's work. Hilda was a very talented woman who was active in church and civic affairs. She worked in the Primary, 1st Ward, Park Stake, for over 30 years; eight years as president and chorister. Then also served as teacher trainer and teacher in Primary. She also served in Relief Society as social relations teacher. She was a member of the Tabernacle Choir in the 1930's, then the Chaminade Chorus and also in the Maestro Chorus (a special group of exceptional voices from the Tabernacle Choir).

Attended school in Philadelphia for business and the Academy of Music. Known for her beautiful voice, music was her love.

Survived by her son, Barry D. Staber of Sandy; daughter, Michal Hayes of Salt Lake; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 7, 1995, at 10 a.m., at the Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, where friends may call one hour prior to services. Interment, Sunset Lawn. Funeral directors, Deseret Mortuary.
