DEATH: E. LEE WHEELOCK

E. Lee Wheelock passed away August 5, 1995, in South Jordan, Utah, of natural causes.

He was born in Santaquin, Utah, December 29, 1940, to Eugene L. and Evelyn Johnson Wheelock. He enjoyed a wonderful, old-fashioned childhood playing in the fields of the rural community. At age 14, his family moved to California where he learned to love the beach.He served a mission for the LDS Church in Argentina from March 1962 through September 1964. He married Marnee Stoor December 16, 1964 in the Los Angeles LDS Temple.

Lee graduated from BYU in advertising and communications and worked for Evans Advertising for 20 years. He loved his chosen profession. He was a member and past president of the South Jordan Lions Club and was involved in lighting the streets of South Jordan.

Lee was a member of the South Jordan Stake High Council for eight years, and was a member of the first bishopric of the South Jordan Central Ward. At the time of his death he was serving as the bishop of the South Jordan 9th Ward. He loved and was beloved by the members of his ward. He had a strong testimony of the church, temple work, and that families can be eternal. He still loves his wife and children and grandchildren.

Survived by his wife, Marnee, South Jordan; daughter, Holly (Todd) Sorenson, South Jordan; son, Kevan (Judy) Wheelock, Eagle, Idaho; three grandchildren, Brooke, Brittney and Corryne; sister, Janice Wheelock, Santaquin, Utah; Marnee's mother, Cleone Stoor, and her husband, Ellis Stoor, who were very close to him.

Funeral services Wednesday, August 9, 1995, at 12 noon in the South Jordan LDS Stake Center, 2450 West 10400 South. Friends may call at Goff Mortuary, 8090 South State, Midvale, Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday at the stake center from 10:45-11:45 a.m. Interment, South Jordan City Cemetery.
