Two technology courses will be offered in Sanpete County by the Sevier Valley Applied Technology Center in Richfield, with classes to begin Aug. 23.
Building Trades and Automotive (mechanics) Technology will be taught at Snow College in Ephraim to students of North Sanpete, Gunnison and Manti high schools as well as to post-high school students.Students should contact their principals or counselors for more information. If they have not previously been enrolled at SVATC, a two-hour entrance test will be required. These will be given Aug. 18 at 9 a.m. at North Sanpete High School in Mt. Pleasant; Aug. 21 at 9 a.m. at Gunnison High School; and Aug. 21 at 1 p.m. at Manti High School.
Adults may enroll by contacting instructors in Ephraim or SVATC. In Ephraim, call 283-4021, ext. 337, for the Automotive Technology Course or ext. 267 for the Building Trades course. The tech's number in Richfield is 896-9711.
Sevier Valley Tech has an open entry-open exit format, so students may begin training at any time. They can work toward obtaining high school credit at their schools and completion certificates at SVATC, officials said.
The program in Sanpete County is a cooperative effort involving the Tech Center, Snow College and the North and South Sanpete school districts.
