Police arrested a suspect Monday in the death of man who crawled to the drive-through lanes of a local bank after suffering multiple stab wounds.
Detectives handcuffed the man's son, Jerret Edenton, without incident at his mother's Salt Lake home. They booked him into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of murder.Witnesses said the two men began fighting about 10 p.m. on Aug. 3 near Guardian State Bank, 217 S. Edison (140 East). The younger of the two men was seen "pounding" on the back of the other man, they said.
Police responded and found Anthony Edenton, 48, bleeding from several wounds. He died at the scene.
"I think there was some sort of dispute between them over some personal property," said Sgt. Sam Hemingway.
Prosecutors are screening first-degree murder charges against the younger Edenton, Hemingway said.
