A prominent Millard County official is scheduled to appear in 4th District Court Thursday for arraignment in connection with misdemeanor and felony charges that have been filed against him.
Robin Pearson was charged with eight counts as the result of an investigation of activities that allegedly occurred between June of 1992 and August of 1994. He was not arrested and was served with a summons to appear in court. The alleged incidents stem from accusations that range from using county materials and services for his own benefit and abusing his county office to accepting money as a consultant for private companies while employed by the county.
Pearson was Millard County administrator for several years.
Some of his responsibilities were changed and his new title became Millard County Commission coordinator.
The Millard County attorney's office requested an investigation by the Sheriff's Department after receiving inquiries from the public complaining about Pearsons's alleged questionable activities. A statement from the attorney's office was released but further comment declined.
Court records show the specific charges include failure to disclose a transaction to a government employer; theft of services and abuse of an official position.
