Treasures, trinkets and maybe even some trash will be on the auction block for the Guild of the Utah Shakespearean Festival's second annual fund-raising auction and garage sale.

The event is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 30, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the lawn in front of the Randall L. Jones Theatre.Items will include autographed Fred Adams ties, posters signed by the USF acting ensemble and props and scenery from the past season's productions. There will also be vintage clothing, jewelry, furs, collectibles, furniture, antique toys, dishes and others.

All proceeds will benefit the festival.

The activities will include a silent auction from 8 to 10:30 a.m., a live auction from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m., and the ongoing garage sale.

"If you love garage sales and you love theater, this event is for you," said Wendy Bowers, director of marketing and public relations for the festival.

For those interested in contributing, the guild will make arrangements to have items picked up from communities along the Wasatch Front. Call 586-6612 or 586-7884 for further information.

"Last year's auction was a huge success," said R. Scott Phillips, USF managing director. "The guild contributed several thousand dollars to the festival, much of it raised through this event."
