The Canterbury Singers will begin their 1995-96 season with choral evensong at 4 p.m. today at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 261 S. 900 East. Included will be pieces by Thomas Weelkes, Richard Ayleward, William Mundy, Peter Hallock and Robert Stone. In addition, Myron Patterson will play organ music of Buxtehude and Bruns.

- BALLET WEST takes its production of "Peter Pan" to Ogden this week for performances Monday and Tuesday, Sept. 25 and 26, at 7:30 p.m. in Weber State University's Browning Center for the Performing Arts.Tickets are priced from $9 to $18 and are available at the Ogden Symphony and Ballet Association box office at the Eccles Community Arts Center, 2580 Jefferson, in Ogden. Tickets may also be purchased by calling 399-9214.

- GUITARIST JAMES REID will perform on Thursday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at the South Valley Unitarian Universalist Society, 6876 S. 2000 East.

Founder of the Northwest Guitar Festival, Reid is director of guitar studies at the University of Idaho and Washington State University. His recital will feature him in music of Andrew York ("Dream-scapes"), Manuel Ponce ("Sonata Mexicana"), Hector Alaya and others.

Tickets are $10 in advance, available at Acoustic Music, Intermountain Guitar & Banjo and Local Music, or $12 at the door.

- MEZZO-SOPRANO Joan Naylor Neff will present a free recital Thursday, Sept. 28, at 8 p.m. at Daynes Music Co.'s Steinway Hall, 156 S. Main.

A professional soloist and voice teacher from Portland, Ore., Neff will be heard in music of Handel, Rossini, Brahms, Marx, Schumann, Mahler and Rachmaninoff, as well as John Carter's "Cantata." She will be accompanied by Kathryn Kelly Jensen.

- LOWELL TAYLOR will present a faculty tuba recital on Friday, Sept. 29, at 7:30 p.m. in Weber State University's Browning Center.

Assisted by other WSU artists, he will perform music of Bach and Hindemith and the premiere of a march written by him for brass, piccolo and percussion. Beginning his second year as an adjunct brass instructor, Taylor is property manager for WSU's bands and collects and restores band instruments as a hobby.

- COTTONWOOD, a duo composed of violinist/mandolinist John Cotton Thompson and guitarist Todd Woodbury, will kick off Westminster College's 1995-96 concert series with a performance Saturday, Sept. 30, at 8 p.m. in the Jewett Center for the Performing Arts.

Featured will be selections from the duo's new CD, "Dance Dance," including music of Britten, Telemann, Giuliani, Holborne and Vi-val-di.

There is no charge for admission.
