Three Spanish Fork fishermen remained missing Wednesday despite rescuers' attempts to find their bodies in Strawberry Reservoir.

Late Tuesday, searchers received a call from a Davis County fisherman who believed he may have spotted the trio in their boat Saturday immediately before a storm blew across the reservoir, Wasatch County Sheriff Mike Spanos said. The three men are identified as Austin Lloyd, 19; Daniel Maycock, 19; and Phillip Shepherd, 26.

"They had told their parents they were going to Strawberry and would be home either Saturday or Sunday," Spanos said. "We had bad weather on both Saturday and Sunday."

When the three fishermen didn't return, one man's parents called authorities. A deputy discovered the trio's truck and a boat trailer but no sign of the men.

Later Monday, searchers found a monogrammed tackle box and life jacket washed ashore from the missing boat.

Before Tuesday's tip, rescuers had searched in areas where the men were known to have fished. On Wednesday, they concentrated in the waters where the 14-foot wood and fiberglass boat was last seen.
