Maureen Ottley Metcalfe, 67, passed away September 28, 1995 at her home in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born April 10, 1928 in Auckland, New Zealand, a daughter of Marguerite J. Pocock and Albert E. Ottley. Married Derek F. Metcalfe, March 5, 1953 in Wellington, New Zealand; later solemnized in the New Zealand Temple.Active member LDS Church, served a mission with her husband and children in the construction of the New Zealand Temple, served in many capacities in the Primary, Young Women's and Relief Society programs, and a worker in the Salt Lake Temple, and floor manager ZCMI Tiffin Room (Salt Lake). Traveled extensively throughout the world with her eternal companion.
Survived by husband, Salt Lake City; son, Wayne J. (Kathy) Metcalfe, Bountiful; daughter, Julie A. (Craig) Pacini; and son, Brent Lee (Tara) Metcalfe, both Salt Lake City; daughter, Rebecca L. (Thomas) Whitchurch, Irvine, Ca; 25 grandchildren; sisters, Winsome Lyes, and Aileyne, both New Zealand; brothers, Phil Ottley, Australia; Leon Ottley, Park City; and sister, Merrill Appleton, New Zealand. Preceded in death by her mother, September 4, 1995; father and a sister, Marilyn Jackson.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 3, 1995, 1 pm, Ensign Stake Center, 589 East 18th Avenue. Friends may call at Larkin Mortuary, 260 East South Temple, Monday evening, 6-8 pm, and at the Stake Center on Tuesday, from 12-12:45 pm. Interment, Salt Lake City Cemetery.
