SHARE 86-YEAR-OLD WOMAN KILLED CROSSING STREET AGAINST LIGHT

A South Central City woman died early Thursday when she was hit by a car while walking across the street.

Killed was:Jantje Kooring, 86, 1992 S. 200 East.

Kooring was walking south in the crosswalk on 200 East at 2100 South when an eastbound car traveled through the intersection and struck her. She died at the scene.

"She apparently didn't know she was crossing on a green light," said Lt. John Hodson. The driver of the eastbound car, Dolores Ostlund, 50, was not cited.
