Students at Brookewood Elementary, 8640 S. Snowbird Drive, celebrate Utah's 100th birthday with balloons, cake, noisemakers and a 600-voice rendition of "Happy Birthday to U-tah." Principal David Vicchrilli said the idea was to give students a memorable experience on the big day to go along with all the lessons they've had on Utah's history. Organized by the PTA, the party was a big hit with kids and teachers alike, Vicchrilli said. Schools around the state held centennial events and activities.
