SHARE SALT LAKE MAN NEAR PERFECT TO WIN WEEK’S GRID PICKS

To win last week's edition of Deseret News Grid Picks, David Ujhely of Salt Lake City had to predict all 12 games correctly plus score the lowest on the tie-breaker game. He did this by coming in with a 26.

The four other entries predicting 12 games correctly and their tie-breaker scores are: David Hovey, Bountiful, 29; Jay Roberts, North Salt Lake, 30; Donn Blackburn, Bennion, 32 and Stephen Falk, Price, 43. They become runners-up.Rounding out the top 10 were six entries predicting 11 games correctly. This wasn't easy because a total of 68 got 11 right, which meant that the tie-breaker formula was used to determine who placed.

The six final runners-up who all predicted 11 games correctly and their tie-breaker scores are: Kerry Soelberg, West Jordan, 8; Kent Dugmore, Sandy, 13; Cindy Tuttle, West Jordan, 12; Alisha Holdaway, Taylorsville, 19; Ryan Lundgreen, West Jordan, 21 and Glen Hales, Farmington, 22.

The top weekly winner receives $100, a Deseret News Grid Picks T-shirt and two bonus points. The 10 runners-up receive the T-shirt.

All 11 are entered in the cumulative game, the winner of which will receive an all-expenses-paid trip for two to the Holiday Bowl.

Last week 1,053 entries were received and break down as follows: five got 12 correct; 68 got 11 correct; 209 got 10 correct; 298 got nine correct; 280 got eight correct; 123 got seven correct; 43 got six correct; 22 got five correct; four got four correct; two got three correct and one got two correct.

Prizes will be mailed to winners.

This week's contest does include Friday night's BYU-Utah State game. However, rules require that entries must be received or postmarked by 5 p.m. Friday, well before the BYU-USU kickoff.
