An Erickson Air-Crane helicopter flies through the silhouette of a chairlift toward the Mount Shasta, Calif., Ski Park parking lot. The crew is installing 13 ski lift towers as part of a 142-triple-chair lift set to open at the park this winter. The lift will expand the vertical drop at the park from 1,100 feet to nearly 1,400 feet. The West enjoyed fair to partly cloudy skies Wednesday, and mist fell in Los Angeles.
