Albania's ruling Democratic Party, widely accused of rigging national elections in May, claimed victory Monday in the country's municipal voting.

Foreign Minister Tritan Shehu said his Democratic Party won 61 percent of the mayoral races in Sunday's voting, while the opposition Socialists won less than 10 percent. He said turnout was 75 percent.
