The No. 1 3A Snow Canyon Warriors took what Tooele gave them and ran with it.

The Warriors turned five Tooele turnovers into 22 first-half points to post a 47-6 rout over the 4A Buffaloes (2-7) Thursday night. With the victory the Warriors move to 9-0 on the year in posting their second straight undefeated regular season. Their last loss came in the 3A state title game to Delta.

"To go through our region undefeated was a surprise. To go through our (regular) season two consecutive years undefeated is a surprise, but those are the kind of surprises we like at Snow Canyon High School," said Warrior coach Bill Jacobsen.

A Lance Warby 20-yard interception return, a 14-yard Drew Solomonson pass to Brock Jacobsen and a 4-yard Brooksby Stafford pass to Jacobsen, all off Tooele turnovers, put the game away early at 22-0 at the half.

Stafford, who had 97 yards on 21 carries, scored from 4 yards out, and Solomonson hit Barry Sorenson for a 95-yard touchdown to push the lead to 34-0.

Quarterback Brock Dubusdevalempre scored Tooele's only touchdown of the night with a 39-yard run late in the third quarter.

Brad Esplin added a 16-yard run, and John Hafen added a 9-yard run to account for the other SC scoring.
