Gladys J. Allred Nelson, 94, died at Turnquist Retreat in Elmo on Thursday, October 24, 1996 of natural causes.

She was born Sept. 12, 1902 in Ephraim, a daughter of Hans Oliver and M. Eleanora Anderson Jensen. She married Charles Earl Allred, Nov. 7, 1923 in the Manti LDS Temple. He died April 7, 1966. She then married Ferris Nelson, Feb. 9, 1974 in the Provo LDS Temple for time. He died Aug. 22, 1983.She was an active member of the LDS Church. She served in the auxiliary organizations, and was an ardent genealogist. she was a member of the Daughter of the Utah Pioneers. She owned and operated the Allred Market in Cleveland for over 30 years.

One of her favorite past times was reading, and she was most happy when she was working. Her family will miss her.

She is survived by three sons and their wives: Don and Vonnie Allred; Fred and DeCarma Allred; all of Huntington; Jack and Hazel Allred, of Spring Glen; two daughters and their husbands: Earlene and Ross Black, of Huntington; Eldyth and Gregg Wakefield of Price; three stepchildren: Gloria Seeley of Pleasant Grove; Sheridan Nelson of West Jordan; and Charlotte Whithers of Salt Lake City; 31 grandchildren; 86 great-grandchildren; and 17 great great-granchildren; two brothers and their wives: Ray and Alice Jensen of Huntington; Gerald and Peg Jensen of Milpitas, Calif.; a sister and her husband: Zenna and Warne Linton of Huntington. She was preceded in death by a son, Dale; four brothers; two sisters; and a grandchild.

Funeral services will be Monday, Oct. 28, 11 a.m. in the Cleveland LDS Chapel. Friends may call at Fausett Mortuary, Castle Dale on Sunday from 6-8 p.m. or at the church one hour prior to services. Burial in the Cleveland Cemetery.
