Harlan Douglas Bryan, 75, of North Salt Lake, passed away at LDS Hospital on October 25, 1996, from complications of staph infection.

Born September 3, 1921 to Charlie B. Bryan and Hazeldean McDowall, Harlan lived most of her younger life in American Falls, Idaho, where he attended public school. In 1942, he entered the US Army and served in a Military Police unit. On February 6, 1948, he married Pearl Jones of Aberdeen, Idaho. The couple was blessed with two children, Douglas and Susan.After 38 years, Harlan retired from Phillips 66 Refinery in 1983. A devoted family man, he enjoyed his children, grandsons, and especially his great-grandson Tysen. He enjoyed helping his neighbors and treated them as he would like to be treated. Harlan and Pearl enjoyed traveling in their RV, spending winters in the sunshine.

Harlan is preceded in death by his parents and three sisters. He leaves his wife, Pearl; and son, Douglas (Marsha), both of North Salt Lake and daughter, Susan Greenland (Rex) of Salt Lake City, two grandsons and one great-grandson. He is survived by three sisters, one brother and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 28, 1996 at 11 a.m. at the Orchard 4th LDS Ward, 55 East 350 No., North Salt Lake with Bishop Marvin Alexander officiating. Friends may call Sunday from 6-8 p.m. and Monday one hour prior all at the church. Interment will be at the Lakeview Memorial Estates, Bountiful.
