Some have asked, "What is the difference between a Republican and a Democrat?" At a recent gubernatorial debate, Jim Bradley (the Democratic challenger to Gov. Mike Leavitt) said something like, "We must force the people to sacrifice." Freudian slips can be very informative. Democrats want to lead us - even when we don't want to be led. Republicans want to allow us the freedom to do or become whatever we want.

Did you notice how Democrat Bill Clinton simply took our land with no citizen input? Republican Bob Dole says he trusts us to make our own decisions. Other Democrats, like Bill Orton, have consistently voted with Clinton and the "we know better than you" crowd. Republican challenger Chris Cannon promises to "work to reduce federal programs and move them to the states."Look at the Anderson/Cook philosophies. Cook, the Republican, wants to lower taxes - you can guess what Democrat Anderson wants. It takes money to obtain the power to force people. No wonder our national debt is so high.

Pro-abortion supporters have even hijacked the word "choice" to hide their selfish "lack of choice" accorded to an innocent unborn child.

As they have tried to do in the past, some are (again) trying to "force" everyone to pay for Utah "arts" with another sales-tax increase. If you enjoy the arts, don't you choose to support them - without being forced? The question is simple, freedom or force. Do we want a "daddy figure" to make our decisions and force us to do what is "right" or do we want an advocate to listen to us and then get out of the way?

Everywhere force has been tried it has failed - just look at the old USSR. The United States is so amazingly successful because of freedom.
