What a difference a year makes for the Fremont Silver Wolves.

After making its way to the state championship game last year, Fremont found itself on the outside looking in this year after losing to Weber 14-7 Friday.The loss dashed the playoff hopes of Fremont, which would have had a play-in game had it won.

The Warriors scored touchdowns in the second and third quarters to take a 14-0 lead. Fremont scored on a 21-yard TD pass by Cody Nielsen in the fourth quarter but could get no closer.

Region 1

Bonneville 48, Northridge 16: Kelly Cooper threw for 165 yards and three touchdowns in the first half to lead the Lakers to a big win over the Knights.

Weber 14, Fremont 7: The Warriors took a 14-0 lead and then held off the Silver Wolves in the final quarter to secure the victory.

Clearfield 33, Layton 3: Josh Anderson had touchdown runs of 44 and 63 yards for the Falcons as they soared past the Lancers.

Region 3

Bingham 14, Copper Hills 0: Chad Grundy threw one TD pass and ran 12 yards for another score in leading the Miners past the Grizzlies. Bingham next faces Bountiful on Friday in the first round of the state tournament.

Hunter 20, Kearns 3: Papa Lomu rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries in helping the Wolverines claw past the Cougars. Zach Hancuff added 163 rushing yards on 17 carries for Hunter.

Region 4

American Fork 54, Timpanogos 19: Ben Robinson rushed for two touchdowns for the Cavemen as they had little problem in handling the T-wolves. American Fork had seven different players score.

Brighton 43, Hillcrest 12: The second-ranked Bengals earned a share of the region title by pounding the rival Huskies. Brighton earns the region's No. 1 seed by virtue of its win over Orem.

Orem 38, Jordan 0: Jon Barlow scored on runs of 1 and 58 yards in helping the Tigers blank the Beetdiggers.

Region 5

Sky View 21, Logan 0: The Bobcats broke open a scoreless game with a 3-yard TD run by Ben Balls and the defense did the rest for the victory. Sky View limited the Grizzlies to 86 yards of total offense.

Region 6/7

East 14, Murray 0: In a game that saw 15 fumbles hit the ground, the top-ranked Leopards managed to grind out a win over the Spartans. Sioni Haveli rushed for 155 yards, including a 40-yard TD run.

Region 8

Spanish Fork 45, Payson 6: Quinn Hampton tossed four TD passes and ran for another score as the Dons ran over the Lions. Joel Higginson ran an interception back for a TD and caught two TD passes for Spanish Fork.

Timpview 28, Springville 21: The Thunderbirds rallied back from a 14-point deficit to cool off the Red Devils. Lane Gardner rushed for two touchdowns and threw one TD pass for the final 21 points for Timpview.

Class 3A North

North Sanpete 22, Carbon 7: Quarterback Allen Jacobsen threw a 12-yard TD pass, ran for another score and added a two-point conversion to lead the Hawks past the Dinos.

Uintah 53, Park City 7: Nick Espindola scored touchdowns on runs and 6 and 7 yards and caught a 22-yard TD pass from Greg Gardner as the Utes ended the season with a big win over the Miners.

Lehi 24, Union 8: Branden Cooper ran for one score and threw for one TD to lead the Pioneers past the Cougars. Clint Gardner led the defensive attack for Union with six QB sacks.

Wasatch 34, Emery 31: The Wasps blew the game open with a 27-point second quarter but then had to hang on to defeat the Spartans. JD Mayer scored three touchdowns for for Wasatch, including the game-winner on a 15-yard run in the third quarter.

Class 3A South

Cedar City 30, Pine View 17: Adam Larsen rushed for 131 yards and Travis Searle added 107 yards for the Redmen as they rolled past the Panthers. Cedar City will meet Lehi in the first round of the state playoffs next week.

Dixie 33, Hurricane 0: Doug Jolley threw for 250 yards in guiding the Flyers past the Tigers. Brett Burrows scored on a 46-yard TD pass and threw a 33-yard TD pass for Dixie.

Delta 36, Richfield 6: The Rabbits grabbed the big road victory over the Wildcats.

Region 12

Grantsville 26, Millard 0: Eric Allred completed 10 passes for 214 yards and three touchdowns as the Cowboys blanked the Eagles for their third shutout of the year. Allred also intercepted a pass, while Greg Cole caught two TD passes and intercepted a pass as well.

Morgan 55, Manti 7: Danny Stout ran the opening kickoff back 86 yards to open the scoring floodgate for the top-ranked Trojans as they marched over the Templars. Bart Brooks rushed for 147 yards and two TDs for Morgan.

North Summit 34, Gunnison 20: Micah Richins rushed for 80 yards and scored twice in the fourth quarter for the Braves as they caged the Bulldogs in their final game of the season.

Juab 23, South Summit 13: The Wasps scored touchdowns on a run, a pass and an interception, and added a field goal in grabbing the road win over the Wildcats. Juab meets North Sevier in the first round of the state tournament next week.

Region 13

Grand 33, Parowan 7: The Red Devils racked up 260 yards rushing for the game as they rolled over the Rams.

North Sevier 21, Kanab 18: Justin Yardley's second touchdown run of the game, a 15-yard scamper with 43 seconds left to play, rallied the Wolves to a win over the Cowboys.

Monticello 18, Beaver 2: Shane Butler opened the scoring with a 1-yard TD plunge and the Buckaroos never looked back in taking care of the Beavers.

Rich 46, Malad, ID 14: Brad Weston scored on TD runs of 35, 25 and 80 yards to lead the top-ranked Rebels to victory. Zane Groll scored twice on runs of 95 and 60 yards for Rich.
