U. Intercollegiate Tennis Meet
MEN'S TENNIS: The BYU men's tennis team ended the University of Utah Intercollegiate Invitational by sweeping all of the winners and consolation singles brackets at the five-day tournament on Friday.
Boris Bosnjakovic was the big winner for the Cougars, upsetting the tournament's top seeded player, Christian Svensson of Utah 7-6, 7-5 to capture the A division crown. In B division action, BYU's Roman Meyerhaus took three sets (4-6, 6-4, 6-4) to knock off teammate Jason Hardin in their finals matchup.
BYU was well represented in the consolation brackets of both divisions as well. In the A division consolation finals, the Cougars' Kris Rosander cruised passed Mark Rodel of Weber State in straight sets, 6-2, 7-5, to capture the top spot. Teammates Mark Watkins and Carter Chow battled for the B division consolation title, with Chow coming out on top 6-4, 6-4.
Utah won the doubles tournament final, as Svensson teamed with Ben Coates to down the top-seeded Y. duo of Bosnjakovic and Manuel Calvo in three sets, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

MEN'S GOLF: After 36 holes of play at the Lexus Golf Classic in Fresno, Calif., the BYU men's team ended Friday's first round in third place and five shots behind front-runner Oregon at an even-par 584.
BYU freshman Andy Miller led the way for the Cougars, firing a 70-72 (142), one stroke behind first-round leader J.J. Astorquia of Oregon.
Cougar sophomore Michael Henderson had the best single-round score of the day, a three-under-par 69.
However, on the second 18 holes, Henderson was penalized two strokes for hitting the wrong ball and finished the round at three-over-par 75. His 36-hole total of 144 put him in a three-way tie for fourth place.
The Cougars will try to catch Oregon and San Diego State in Saturday's final round of play.
Weber State
WOMEN'S GOLF: Weber State's women's golf team will compete in its final tournament of the fall season Monday and Tuesday at the San Diego State Aldila Fall Classic. The 54-hole tournament will be played with 36 holes on Monday and the final 18 holes on Tuesday.
The Wildcats placed second behind Northern Arizona at the Big Sky Golf Championship earlier this month.
