A Salt Lake County man has been charged with possession and intent to operate a methamphetamine lab.

Third District Court documents say the man, 35, was stopped while driving his car Aug. 13 for failure to signal and for displaying front and back license plates that did not match. The front plate did not belong to the car and the rear plate was not traceable, the records say.The man had a bag of marijuana and several outstanding warrants for his arrest, the documents say. Also, the man's driver's license was revoked.

The man was arrested and the car impounded. An inventory of the car revealed a clandestine methamphetamine lab in the trunk, according to court documents. Items included glassware, chemicals and the finished product - methamphetamine, the documents say.
