A Salt Lake County man has been charged with shooting at a police officer during a high-speed chase last week.

On Oct. 18, a police officer tried to stop the suspect, 22, driving at a high speed near 8600 West and 2700 South, according to 3rd District Court documents. Instead of stopping, the suspect sped away and during the course of the chase fired a shotgun about eight times at the police car.It is unclear whether the patrol car was hit, but the policeman was not injured, according to the documents.
