A tree on the University of Utah campus is stripped of its limbs from the weight of snow and ice. At least 15,000 Utah Power customers were in the dark Friday from power outages in Weber, Davis and Salt Lake counties. The blackouts blanketed the Wasatch Front as a result of heavy snowfall that bent branches and limbs, ultimately arcing and snapping power lines and spurring thousands of calls to the company's emergency lines. Some residents were without power for most of the day. See story on Page B2.
