Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 532 E. 700 South, will celebrate its 104th year beginning with five days of prayer Oct. 28-Nov. 1 at 6:30 p.m. The Rev. Donald Parish of Dallas will be the guest speaker for a revival Nov. 4-8 at 7 p.m. A centennial celebration will be held Saturday, Nov. 9, at 5 p.m., and the Rev. George Glass be speak at the culminating anniversary day event on Sunday, Nov. 10, at 3:30 p.m.

The congregation was organized in 1892, the first Black Baptist church in the territory of Deseret. Long known for its involvement in community affairs, the church provides a home for many in Utah's black community.
