The city's Parks and Recreation Department has stopped accepting reservations for park pavilions until next year due to the change in seasons. The restrooms at all city parks will be locked and water turned off to prevent pipes from freezing. Residents, however, are still invited to use the city's parks.
After Jan. 1, residents can reserve park pavilions by calling 963-3214 or by e-mail at (LCannon@ci.west-valley.ut.us). Residents must submit a $50 cleaning deposit, which is refundable.More than 15,000 people used the city's six park pavilions this year. Centennial Park, now under construction, will have a picnic pavilion available for use next year. A $3.8 million ice sheet, which will serve as the park's centerpiece, is scheduled for completion in February.
