Bert Jackson Thomas was born March 4, 1962 to Mrs. Earl Reedom-Madden and Mr. A.J. Thomas at Holy Cross Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Bert married Traci Morgan in April 1983. To this union a son, Daniel Scott Thomas was born. Bert Served in the United States Marines. Employed at University of California Press. He was baptized in Thompson Chapel C.M.E. Church in Artesia, New Mexico. Bert received his religious training in Trinity African Methodist Episcopal Church in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was a very active member of St. Paul A.M.E. Church in Berkeley, California.Bert leaves to mourn his passing his widow and son; his mother; uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. J.B. Connor, Lake Arthur, New Mexico; brothers, Jumani Makalani; Terry L. Williams (Joyce); Clifford L. Williams, all of Oakland, California; Lennis E. Williams, Salt Lake City; sisters, Barbara A. Williams Hennix (Eugene), Woodbridge, Virginia; Cherry D. Sherrod Chatman (Curtis), Reno, Nevada; Finnis A. Williams, Lorton, Virginia; Annetta J. Thomas Wilson (Charles), Salt Lake City. Special loving friends, Edward and Evelyn Windsor, Oakland, California; sisters-in-law, Leslie and Kelly Morgan; father-in-law, Joe Morgan; a host nephews and nieces and many friends.
After cremation, the family will gather in Oakland for memorial services.
