Elden Robert Wilcken, age 79, died October 26, 1996 at home after a long fight with cancer.
He was born December 21, 1916 in Tabiona to George H. and Myrtle Michie Wilcken. He married Goldie E. Green May 6, 1946 in Manhattan, Kansas. She died August 29, 1993. Elden served our country during World War II in the US Air Force. He was a member of the American Legion, member of the LDS Church, was involved in many community events and enjoyed lapidary, fishing, hunting, writing, photography, playing piano, gardening and oil painting. He retired from the Forest Service.Survivors are son and daughters, Chuck and Tammy Wilcken, Tamara and Wayne Garner, Teresa W. Baker, all Duchesne; Valerie and Paul Schlader, Kamiah, Idaho; nine grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Carl H. and Mary Wilcken, Fresno, Calif.; Barbara Klippel, Seattle, Wash.; G. Paul and Betty Jean Wilcken, Roosevelt; Laurel and Don Severin, Sanger, Calif.; Virginia and Lee Winter, Mercer Island, Wash. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Funeral, Tuesday, 11 a.m., at the Duchesne LDS 3rd Ward Chapel where friends may call one hour prior to the service. Interment, Duchesne Cemetery with military honors. Funeral Directors, Hullinger Oplin Mortuary, Roosevelt.
