Alfonsie Spensko, age 87, passed away October 25, 1996 in Price.

He was born June 11, 1909 in Sunnyside, Utah, to Leopold and Annie Carban Spensko.Married Joan Callas, December 6, 1944 in Grand Junction, Colorado. Member of the Catholic Church. Member of the United Mine Workers of America, where he worked in several Spring Canyon mines, prior to retiring from Western Coal in 1966. Served US Army during World War II. Former employee of Carbon County Hospital and Coors Distributing in Helper. He enjoyed fishing, camping and brewing his own beer, which he shared with many friends.

Survived by: his wife, Joan Spensko, Helper; one son, Dennis (Dianna) Spensko, Price; one daughter, Sonja (John) Dods, Roy; step children and spouses, John (Vickie) Callas, Bill (Sally) Callas, Jim (Rosemary) Callas, Tom Callas, all of Rock Springs, Wyoming; Phyllis Christensen, Price; brother, John Spensko, Helper. Also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by son, Louis Paul Spensko.

Committal service, Tuesday, October 29, 1996, 11 a.m., Mountain View Cemetery, Helper. Family will be at Mitchell Funeral Home in Price, Tuesday one hour prior to services and Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Friends may call Mitchell's, Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
