Leland Bonner "Pink" Ivers, 60, died October 24, 1996 at his home after a valiant fight with cancer.
Born May 15, 1936 in Los Angeles, Calif. to Leland William "Red" and Glenna Bonner Ivers. Married Rosalee Hertell, February 15, 1956 in Heber City. Later solemnized in the Provo LDS Temple.As an active member of the LDS church he served in the Sunday School Presidency, Scout Program and various other church callings. Served two terms as a Midway City councilman and was president of the Midway Boosters Club. While doing what he loved most, raising cattle and farming, he worked 17 years at Geneva Steel and later as a construction heavy equipment operator. Leland had a great love for the outdoors, hunting, raising horses and spending time with his family.
Survived by his wife of Midway; stepmother, Oneta Casper, Midway; Jeff (Lois) Ivers, Layton; Wes (Teena) Ivers, Logan; Deanna Ivers (Dean) Pitts, American Fork; Glenn (Lisa) Ivers; Russ (Natalie) Ivers, Spanish Fork; Leslie Ivers (Eddie) Burgener, Heber City; sisters: Bonnie (Reed) Bezzant, Midway; Colleen (Bob) Voorhis, Lomita, Calif.; nine grandchildren. Preceded by a grandson, Bradley Jeff Ivers.
Funeral services will be Tuesday October 29, 1996 at 11 a.m. at the Midway 4th Ward Chapel (165 No. Center). Friends may call at Olpin Mortuary Monday 6-8 p.m. and Tuesday one hour prior to services at the church. Interment, Midway Cemetery.
