George Wyatt Turner, age 63, died October 25, 1996 in West Jordan, Utah.
Born July 27, 1933 in Glendale, California, a son of Cledis Ford and Ruth Eleanor Wyatt Turner. Married Lola Colleen Jackson on August 9, 1967 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.George was an active member of the LDS Church, serving as Sunday School counselor and secretary, ward membership secretary, High Priest group secretary, primary teacher, Blazer scout leader, and ordinance worker in the Jordan River Temple. He also served as a volunteer at West Jordan LDS Employment Office. He enjoyed fishing and other outdoor activities, and "gourmet" and dutch oven cooking. In his younger years, he enjoyed scuba diving, ocean fishing, and sailboating. His main interests were his family, working in the temple, and serving others. He worked at the Utah State Prison as a registered nurse until he retired in 1991. His family and friends love him and miss him, but know they will be reunited with him some day.
Survived by his wife, Colleen, West Jordan; sons and daughters-in-law, George Jackson (Diane) Turner, Murray; Clay Wyatt (Jennifer) Turner, Salt Lake City. Preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m., at West Jordan Mountain View Stake Center, 2901 West 9000 South. Friends may call Monday, 5-8 p.m., at McDougal West Jordan Mortuary, 1861 West 7800 South, and Tuesday, at the church, 10-10:45 a.m. Interment, West Jordan City Cemetery.
