Grover Edward Wilson, age 72, died Friday evening at his home in St. George.

He was born March 18, 1924 in Payson, Utah, a son of George and Edna Florence Rappleye Wilson.Renowned for his compassionate service with substance abusers, Ed was noted in many editorials and in 1994, was awarded a merit plaque from the Salt Lake Division of Substance Abuse. Ed served as a High Priest in the LDS Church, residing in the Green Valley 6th Ward. He has served in many faithful callings in the Church and loved attending the Temple.

Survivors include: his wife, Charlotte and her extended family; Ed's daughter, Sherry Lynn; his brother, Max and wife, Laura; several nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his sister, Mildred and her husband, Eddy; Ed's Aunt Alice and many cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 1996, 12 noon at the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary Chapel, 110 South Bluff Street, where friends may call Monday evening from 7 until 8, and Tuesday, one hour prior to the services. A graveside service will be held Wednesday, October 30, 1996, at 2 p.m. at the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery under the direction of the Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary.
