Depending upon which UTA bus you follow, you'll see a picture of Ross Anderson or Jan Graham. Jim Bradley and Bill Orton share in what I observed - none of their campaign posters declare the party that nominated them. Now Bill Orton claims he is an "independent." Are the other three "independent," too, or are they afraid to say the "D" word?

Anderson and Graham are both smiling. Wonder what they are thinking? Could it be the statement of "mean-spirited" Bradley saying "no lights on the Christmas tree" or the absurd, "President Clinton wants me in Washington" response made by Orton after the Escalante land grab? Is the declining to affix their party logo or to put the name of their party on their posters recognizing the validity of the title of the book, "The Demise of the Democratic Party"?After what the Democrats did while controlling the U.S. House for 40 years, we in Utah need to help the Republicans in both houses retain their majority and regain the presidency. A new kind of liberalism, demonstrated by their exotic lifestyle, has risen in Washington during the Clinton administration that is frightening. A President Dole would take care of that and once more we'd be proud of the White House and first lady again.
