With a cloud of snow created by snowmaking machines in the background, skiers head toward the slopes at Park City Ski Resort, which opened one lift over the weekend. It was the second earliest opening of the resort ever. The earliest was in 1963 - the resort's first season. The resort is making snow in preparation for the America's Opening World Cup ski race for men and women, which will be held over the Thanksgiving holiday. Power and phone services have been restored to most Wasatch Front homes and businesses after the big snow and rain storm that pummeled Weber, Davis and Salt Lake counties last week. But Utah is in for another "winter" wallop, according to the National Weather Service. See story on B8.
