Layton
In its meeting Thursday, Oct. 17, the City Council:
- Tabled to Nov. 21 a rezone and site approval request for the Ponds at Oakhills PRUD project at 2500 E. Oakhills Dr. The city is waiting for more information from the developer on grading and landscaping plans.
- Tabled a rezone request by GMW Development for property at 2525 N. Church St., pending annexation. The request was tabled to Nov. 7.
- Denied a rezone request by Layton/Bach Development on 7.7 acres at 2075 N. Main. The firm wants to retain commercial zoning on the front of the property and build a 144-unit apartment complex on the back.
- Tabled a rezone request on 0.39 acres at 175 E. Antelope Dr., from A (agriculture) to M-1 (light manufacturing) for use as an equipment storage lot. The area is adjacent to Hill Air Force Base and is covered by a restrictive use easement. City planning staff members are trying to determine appropriate uses under the easement.
Fruit Heights
In its Oct. 15 meeting, the City Council:
- Discussed U.S. 89 and I-15 issues with State Rep. Marda Dillree. R-Farmington.
- Tabled a discussion on the final environmental impact statement for U.S. 89.
- Approved in concept a Air Touch Cellular Tower to be located on the west end of the city's public works property, pending a lease agreement.
- Tabled a discussion of the city's street maintenance policy.
