The Navajo Nation is sponsoring "An Evening With The Navajo Nation" fund-raiser dinner at Utah Valley State College on Wednesday, Oct. 30, from 6 to 8 p.m. Cost is $20 per person and proceeds will go toward sending 50 Navajo students of all ages to witness the lighting of Utah's Christmas tree on the west lawn of the White House in Washington, D.C.

In honor of Utah's statehood centennial, the tree will be cut Nov. 15 from the Manti-LaSal National Forest and will arrive in Washington the first week in December. Tree-lighting ceremonies are to occur Tuesday, Dec. 10.Participating on the dinner program will be Navajo Nation Speaker Kelsey Begaye and Vice President Thomas Etscitty. Razor Saltboy, a recording artist and singer/songwriter, will provide the evening's entertainment, along with Herb Long, who has worked extensively with Navajo Nation youths.
