Post got together with Ocean Spray and came up with a tempting new cereal. Cranberry Almond Crunch wants a tryout in a cereal bowl near you. The 13-ounce box retails for $3.09.
Nihla Lake: (married, two children at home): "When we tested the little wrinkled cranberries, we thought these would be good in cereal - call it cran-bran! Now, voila, they came out with a very tasty cereal containing craisins and almonds - a tasty combo - good with milk or to eat right out of the box. We liked 'em and will probably buy them again."Edyth Jensen (married, frequent visits from kids and grandkids): "We enjoyed this cereal. It is crisp with a fair amount of sliced almonds and craisins. The craisins are soft and chewy with the right amount of tartness. We have tried this before and will buy it again."
Don Russell (married, five children at home, ages 6-16): "Post has concocted a tasty blend of multigrain flakes, sliced almonds, oat clusters and dried cranberries. All in all, I thought this was a decent cereal that was rather satisfying. On a 10 scale, I'd give this cereal a seven."
Linda C. Tingey (single mother, two teenage boys at home): "Ever since I saw the commercial on TV, I've wanted to try this cereal. The cranberries looked so inviting. It's everything that it's cracked up to be and more. It's the most delicious cereal I've ever eaten. Because of the expense, parents should buy this and hide it for yourself! My whole family loved it. A grownup cereal that grownups will love."
Rich Firmage (married, four children, oldest age 11): "I like cereal with fruit in it. And I like cranberry juice. Mixing the two together didn't do much for me, though. It wasn't as exciting as the TV commercials made it out to be. It is OK, but not spectacular."
Bill Allred (single): "Well, this is a mighty tasty cereal. If you like raisin bran and cereals of that ilk, this one may be for you. The dried cranberries are a nice twist, and the cereal seems to be naturally sweet enough so no extra sugar is needed. The only drawback that I can see here is the price. It's $3 for a pretty small box. Who'd have thought that something you find in a bog (cranberries, you know) would be so pricey?"
Conclusion: Everyone liked this cereal and some absolutely loved it. Is it good enough to make you forget the price? Give it a try and see.
