The City Council is accepting applications to fill the council seat to be vacated by Kent Winder, who will resign officially Nov. 5.

Winder recently told the council he would give up his position as councilman in order to move to West Valley City and be closer to his family's business, Winder Dairy.The City Council plans to fill Winder's post at its meeting on Wednesday, Nov. 6, at 6:30 p.m. at the council chambers at 2520 W. 4700 South. The person appointed will serve out Winder's term, which expires Jan. 1, 1998. All five council positions come up for election in November 1997.

Registered Taylorsville voters may submit an application for appointment consideration no later than 5 p.m. Nov. 4. Applications are available at City Council offices.
