Edwin Rusk Simons, Jr., age 75, passed away Sunday, October 27, 1996 at a local nursing home.
He was born October 21, 1921 in Salt Lake City, a son of Edwin R. and Crista Bell Hales Simons, Sr. He served with the U.S. Air Force in World War II. On October 17, 1941 he married Delna Brinkerhoff in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He was employed as a Postal Supervisor for the U.S. Post Office. He was a member of the LDS 6th Ward.He is survived by two sons and four daughters: Edwin R. Simons III, West Jordan; Quay Heber Simons, West Valley; Gayelynne Houghton, Marsha Simons, Salt Lake City; Debra Frank, Las Vegas, Nev.; Tonya Hill, Salt Lake City; one brother, Kenneth R. Simons, Salt Lake City; one sister, Carol Cengiz, Salt Lake City; 20 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two daughters, one brother and two sisters.
Graveside services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2 p.m. at Camp Williams. Friends may call at Camp Williams one hour prior to services. Interment, Camp Williams. Funeral directors, Heritage Funeral Service, 2964 West 4700 So., West Valley City.
