Moroni Barney, Jr., age 93, of Elsinore, died October 27, 1996 in Richfield.

He was born August 25, 1903 in Marysvale, Utah, a son of Moroni and Serina Elsa King Barney, Sr. He married Emma Jane Carrigan, August 8, 1923 in Richfield, Utah. Their marriage was solemized in the Manti LDS Temple, February 26, 1959. She died May 14, 1988. Moroni was a farmer and had worked at Georgia Pacific in Sigurd. He was a member of the LDS Church.He is survived by two children: Ardell M. and Maydelle Barney of Ely, Nev.; Betty and Duane Julander of Elsinore; five grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; three sisters and one brother, LaJune Barney of Central Valley; Grace Helquist of Elsinore; Arrawanna Caldwell of Ogden; and Glen Barney of Salina. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Ramona Barney; one great-grandson; two sisters and five brothers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 1996 at 11 a.m. in the Elsinore LDS Ward Chapel, where friends may call for viewing Wednesday morning from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the services.

Burial will be in the Monroe City Cemetery under the direction of the Springer Turner Funeral Home of Richfield and Salina, Utah.
