Lois Elaine Shrives Smith died of cancer October 26, 1996 at the home of her son and daughter-in-law in Apache Junction, Arizona.
She was the youngest child born April 15, 1924 in Franklin, Idaho to Harrie E. and Annie Challis Shrives. She married Earl Nathan Smith on November 19, 1941 in the Logan LDS Temple. He preceded her in death January 2, 1968, and has been waiting for her with our Father-in-Heaven.She retired as a ward clerk from St. Marks Hospital in 1992 and enjoyed gardening, bowling, and visiting with friends and family.
Survived by her son, Earl Jay (Vicki) Smith of Apache Junction, Ariz.; and daughters, Shirley Stevens, Salt Lake; Kay Keller, Sandy; Kristy Smith, San Jose, Calif.; Jody (Mark) Gordon, Chico, Calif.; her adored eight grandchildren and three great-grandsons; brother, Willard (Helen) Shrives and sister, Thelma (Ira) Telford.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, October 30, 1996 at 12 noon, at the Winder Eighth Ward, 1361 East 4000 South. Friends may call Tuesday, 6 to 8 p.m. at Colonial Mortuary, 2128 South State and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment, Elysian Burial Gardens.
Thanks to the Hospice of the Valley, Phoenix, Ariz. for their care and help during her last month and to her neighbors and friends who cared for her home.
