Iomega Corp. has delivered the Ditto grande - a two-gigabyte tape backup drive that is capable of storing the entire contents of a personal computer on one cartridge.

The Ditto 2GB has an estimated street price of $200 for the external version and $150 for the internal version. Sony Recording and Energy Group will make tape cartridges for the Ditto 2GB, while Iomega will make the drive.Ditto 2GB cartridges are available for as little as $20.

Ditto 2GB offers the same features as other Iomega storage products, with several new features: - One-step backup, which lets a user backup a computer with a single mouse click.

- Universal compatibility with cartridges for other Iomega products.

Canon Computer Systems Inc. plans to incorporate Iomega's 100-megabyte Zip drive as a standard feature in two of its multimedia personal computers.

Iomega's Zip drive is currently included in Canon's Innova Media MT 9350 Multimedi PC.

"The Zip drive is a proven personal storage solution our customers can depend on and part of our effort to offer customers the latest available technology," said Tom Perrier, director of PC sales and marketing for Canon.

Iomega's Zip drive and disks offer more than 70 times the capacity of traditional floppy disks.
