In what Utah Highway Patrol calls a very strange coincidence, troopers have discovered two cars hauling pipe bombs near Richfield in the past two weeks.

Saturday night a trooper found four pipe bombs in a car during a traffic stop on I-70 near Richfield, said Lt. Verdi White. The driver, George Pajka, was booked in the Sevier County Jail. Pajka was driving from Colorado to California when he was stopped because his car matched the description of a vehicle whose driver stole gas from a local service station, White said.About two weeks ago a Highway Patrol trooper found a pipe bomb in a car during a routine traffic stop near the same location.

"We just don't know what this means," White said.

At this point Highway Patrol investigators are not aware of any connection between the two incidents but the agency will be looking for a pattern, White said.
