Donald Keith Fowles, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, age 66, passed away October 26, 1996, in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Born September 22, 1930 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Irvin William and Bessie Tolley Fowles. He married Heather Thurman, June 11, 1956 in the Salt Lake Temple. Don received both his BS and MS degrees from the University of Utah, and retired from the Davis School District after teaching 30 years. A member of the LDS Church, he served in many capacities. At the time of his death he was serving as a ward clerk. A true "Utah Man", he loved cheering for the U of U football and basketball teams. Don enjoyed planning vacations and traveling with his wife, and one of his greatest joys was his grandchildren. The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the University of Utah Hospital.Survived by his wife, Bountiful; children, Tammy (Larry) Anderson, Salt Lake City; Mark (Katherine) Fowles, Bountiful; Allison (Shane) Martinez, Salt Lake City; eight grandchildren; brothers, Jack (Zoe), Delta; Jerry (Helen) and Richard (Rosalind), Salt Lake City; sisters, Joanne (Boyd) Smith, Salt Lake City; Pat (Bob) Fife, Elk Grove, Calif. Preceded in death by his parents, brother and twin sons.
Funeral services Friday, Nov. 1, 1996, 12 noon, Bountiful Canyon Park Ward Chapel, 1190 East Bountiful Hills Drive (900 South). Friends may call Thursday evening at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, from 6-8 p.m. and again Friday morning from 10:45-11:45 at the chapel. Interment, Bountiful City Cemetery.
